The Universal Technical Institute of Arizona Inc raised tuition by 2.6% for the 2022-23 school year, as revealed in the most recent report, according to the latest disclosure from the National Center for Education Statistics.

Students enrolled at the two-year private for-profit institution paid $40,050 this year, which is $1,000 higher than the $39,050 charged during the 2021-22 academic year.

Approximately 48% of the undergraduate students at the school are Arizona residents, while the remaining 52% come from other states.

Data indicates that 93% of full-time undergraduates who began studies at the Universal Technical Institute of Arizona Inc in 2022-23 received some form of student financial aid. A total of 628 students were awarded grants or scholarships amounting to $3.8 million, and 695 students obtained student loans totaling more than $6.3 million.

Across all undergraduates, 1,896 students benefited from grants or scholarships totaling $8.8 million. Additionally, 1,582 students borrowed $9.8 million in federal student loans.

Meanwhile, student loan debt has steadily increased over the last 30 years, reaching $1.75 trillion in 2024, averaging a total of $28,950 per borrower. Federal loans make up 92% of the debt, with over half of students at both public and private four-year colleges graduating with student loans.
