Estrella Foothills High School announced on Mar. 24 the launch of a new student-driven recycling initiative called “Wolves Go Green.” The program is located in the school cafeteria and features eight bins for recycling aluminum cans and plastic bottles.
The goal of the initiative is to reduce waste on campus while encouraging students to participate in environmental stewardship. Students are at the center of this effort, with those assigned to In-School Suspension supporting daily sorting and organization of recyclables as part of their service contributions. Character Coach Julio Zuniga and Assistant Principal Nick Gonzalez oversee the project, helping guide its progress.
Members of the Student Council and Art Design classes contributed by designing and promoting the recycling stations, aiming to boost participation across the school community. The proceeds from collected recyclables will be donated back to the EFHS Principal’s Fund, which supports various student programs, activities, and campus needs.
The “Wolves Go Green” program highlights Estrella Foothills High School’s focus on fostering student leadership and responsibility through practical projects that benefit both students and their environment.
