Michael Carbone, a Republican and Majority Leader in the Arizona State House representing the 25th District, has recently used his social media platform to criticize Governor Katie Hobbs’ veto of a proposed state budget and to highlight his own recognition for energy policy leadership.

On May 6, 2026, Carbone posted: “Gov Hobbs vetoed a budget that included: No tax on tips Relief for working families Retirement tax relief for seniors Full funding for ed Support for public safety Responsible spending without runaway govt growth We’re committed to passing a budget that lowers”.

Two days later, on May 8, 2026, he reiterated his criticism of Governor Hobbs’ actions with another post: “No Tax on Tips. Retirement Relief. Education Funding. Hobbs Vetoed ALL of It. After weeks of walking away from budget negotiations, Governor Hobbs returned and rejected a plan that delivered real, immediate relief for Arizona families. This was a budget that eliminated taxes on”.

Between these posts, on May 7, 2026, Carbone announced national recognition for his work in energy policy: “Majority Leader Michael Carbone Named 2026 Nuclear State Champion National honor recognizes his work to secure reliable, affordable power for Arizona ‘Arizona cannot power its future on slogans, wishful thinking, or an electric grid that depends on the weather. Nuclear energy”.

Carbone was elected to the Arizona State House in 2023 to represent the state’s 25th House District after succeeding Michelle Udall. As Majority Leader, he has focused on fiscal policy and energy reliability as central issues in legislative debates with Governor Hobbs’ administration.
