Rep. Paul Gosar, DDS, a U.S. Congressman who won re-election in 2024 against Quacy Smith with 65.3% of the vote, posted a series of tweets at the end of September and beginning of October 2025 regarding the government shutdown.

On September 30, 2025, Gosar wrote: “Schumer is shutting the gov’t down because he’s terrified that AOC will crush him in a primary. This is the real reason. Politics > America.”

Shortly after, he followed up with another tweet on the same day: “Portrait of a Government Shutdown”.

The next day, October 1, Gosar posted only a link: “https://t.co/RZBcZjYKiJ”.

Paul Gosar has maintained his seat in Congress through multiple election cycles, including defeating Richard Grayson in 2022 with nearly 98% of the vote. His recent social media activity reflects ongoing partisan debate over responsibility for government shutdowns and internal party dynamics.
