Rep. Paul Gosar, DDS, a U.S. Congressman who has recently secured reelection in both 2022 and 2024, posted a series of tweets on December 8, 2025, addressing his opposition to the Optional Practical Training (OPT) program and responding to other users on social media.

In his first tweet at 22:09 UTC, Gosar stated: “My letter to the White House urging termination of OPT program. Our government should not be incentivizing foreign employees over Americans. This badly flawed government program should be eliminated. My bill, H.R. 2315, does just that.”

Later that evening at 23:46 UTC, he replied directly to another user with the message: “Nor should you @JaydeeKeyz”.

Shortly after, at 23:48 UTC, Gosar posted another tweet expressing agreement with an unspecified statement or post: “THIS “.

Paul Gosar has been a prominent figure in Arizona politics for several years. In the most recent elections, he defeated Quacy Smith in the 2024 general election by a margin of 65.3% to 34.7%, and previously overcame Richard Grayson in the 2022 general election with an overwhelming majority of nearly 98%. These electoral victories have solidified his position as a representative voice for his district.

The OPT program referenced by Gosar allows international students in the United States to work temporarily after graduation; it has been subject to debate regarding its impact on American workers and immigration policy.
