Rep. Gillette has expressed public appreciation for Mohave County Recorder Lydia Henry and her staff, recognizing their efforts in maintaining accurate voter rolls. According to Gillette, the Recorder’s Office recently reached out to 3,998 voters whose registrations listed out-of-state mailing addresses. These individuals were given the opportunity to verify, update, or cancel their registration.
Gillette stated, “I want to publicly thank Mohave County Recorder Lydia Henry and her staff for their professionalism, diligence, and commitment to election integrity through proactive voter roll maintenance.”
He emphasized that this process is standard procedure designed to uphold transparency and comply with state law: “This is exactly how the system is supposed to work: transparent, orderly, and grounded in statute.”
Gillette noted that keeping voter rolls up-to-date serves several purposes. It ensures only eligible voters participate in Arizona elections, reduces administrative waste caused by returned mail, improves efficiency during elections, and helps maintain public confidence in the process. He added that it also protects lawful voters’ rights.
“Recorder Henry’s actions demonstrate responsible leadership and adherence to Arizona law. She is setting the example for county recorders across the state by doing the hard, often thankless work required to keep voter records current and accurate,” Gillette said.
He further commented on the importance of administrative discipline before Election Day: “Election integrity begins long before Election Day. It begins with disciplined administration, statutory compliance, and the courage to do what is right—even when it is politically inconvenient. Mohave County is better served because of Recorder Henry’s dedication.”
Gillette concluded his remarks by encouraging voters themselves to help maintain clean rolls by updating their information as needed: “I commend Recorder Lydia Henry and her team for their continued commitment to fair, lawful, and secure elections, and I encourage voters to take personal responsibility by reviewing and updating their registration whenever their information changes.
Clean rolls. Qualified voters. Trustworthy elections.”
Carbone was elected as a Republican representative for Arizona’s 25th House District in 2023 after replacing Michelle Udall.
