Rep. Paul Gosar, DDS, currently serving as the U.S. Congressman for Arizona’s 9th district, published a series of statements on April 14, 2026, expressing opposition to the DIGNIDAD Act and federal funding for animal testing.

On April 14, Gosar stated: “The DIGNIDAD Act is being sold as an ‘immigration reform’ bill, but at its core it grants amnesty under another name. No rewarding illegals.” He continued his criticism later that day with a separate post: “DIGNIDAD Act needs to be DIGNIDEAD!”

In another tweet posted on April 14, Gosar addressed federal funding of animal research: “End Fauci’s taxpayer funded animal testing labs!”

Paul Gosar has represented Arizona’s 9th district in Congress since 2011 after replacing Ann Kirkpatrick. He won reelection in both the 2022 and 2024 general elections by wide margins against Richard Grayson and Quacy Smith respectively. Born in Rock Springs, Wyoming in 1958 and currently residing in Bullhead City, Gosar earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Creighton University in 1981.
