Shawnna LM Bolick, a Republican who has represented Arizona’s 2nd Senate District in the State Senate since 2023, posted several personal reflections and commentary on her X (formerly Twitter) account between September 9 and September 11, 2025.
On September 9, Bolick expressed support for U.S. Congressman Thomas Massie, writing, “Massie is still my favorite US congressman. Even better he continues to stand with Epstein’s victims. Thank you, Congressman Massie! “
The following day, she addressed recent events affecting commentator Charlie Kirk and called for more civil public discourse: “Prayers up for @charliekirk11 and his family. Our society really needs to embrace civil discourse or it will be the demise of our republic. We need to continue to find common ground to solve problems, not resort to violence.” This statement was made as part of an ongoing national conversation about political polarization and incidents involving public figures.
On September 11, Bolick shared personal memories related to the anniversary of the September 11 attacks: “This day always brings on big emotions. I was born and raised outside of Pittsburgh, PA. I don’t believe I have physically been to Shanksville, PA, but I drove near it on my commute to/from DC as a graduate school student. I lived in New York state for four years in the 1990s.” Her remarks reference Shanksville’s significance as the crash site of United Airlines Flight 93 during the attacks.
Bolick succeeded Steve Kaiser when she was elected in 2023 to represent Arizona’s 2nd Senate District.
