CITY OF GOODYEAR: Cast Your Vote in the Presidential Preference Election

What is the Presidential Preference Election and who can vote?

The Presidential Preference Election in Maricopa County takes place on Tuesday, March 17.  The only item on the ballot is to vote for a candidate from the Democratic party to move forward to the Presidential Election in November. For that reason, only registered Democrats can vote in the March 17 Presidential Preference Election.    

When will registered Republicans and Independents vote?

Registered Republicans, Democrats and Independents will be able to vote in the Primary Election on August 4, 2020.

When is the voter registration deadline?

The deadline to register to vote in the March 17 Presidential Preference Election is Feb. 18. You can register to vote online at Service Arizona. Click here for the Service Arizona voter registration page.  

Can I change my party affiliation?

Yes, you can change your party affiliation for the March 17 Presidential Preference Election by re-registering online at Service Arizona. You must register by Feb. 18. Click here for the Service Arizona voter registration page.

How do I vote?

There are two ways to vote in the March 17 Presidential Preference Election.

Mail - A ballot will be mailed to all registered Democrats on Feb. 19.

In-Person - Polling locations will be setup across the Valley on March 17. You must vote at your assigned polling location. Polling locations will be listed by Feb. 14. To find your polling location, click here. Goodyear City Hall will not be a polling location.

How do I request an early ballot?

An early ballot must be requested by Feb. 14. There are two ways to request an early ballot:

Phone - Call the Maricopa County Recorder’s Office at (602) 506-1511 to be placed on the Permanent Early Voter List.

Online - Submit a request for an early ballot online on the Maricopa County Elections website. Click here to request an early ballot.

Where can I drop off my ballot?

Ballots can be dropped off at a polling location on election day. Ballots must be dropped off by 7 p.m. on March 17.
