An Arizona State University study confirms that Scottsdale Airport and Airpark is responsible for a $688 million economic impact in 2019.
The city-owned airport was able to achieve financial milestone without offering any commercial airline services, KJZZ reports. It's incoming revenue is generated through corporate jets and its focus on business and leisure travelers.
Direct benefits, secondary benefits along with money recirculated through the local economy are some of the factors included in the $688 million impact. Economic activity at the park was also taken into consideration in the study. According to Seidman Research Institute at W.P. Cary School of Business Professor Lee McPheters, this is a 20.7% increase from the last study completed in 2015.
KJZZ reports Scottsdale Airport and Airpark is responsible for 1,706 aviation-related jobs and has 478 based aircraft, including 176 corporate jets. The aviation activity in the park is responsible for a considerable amount of employment, the study confirmed 3,979 jobs.
