As the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases continue to grow across the country, the demand for ventilators and beds is growing as well.
However, a Phoenix-based bed manufacturer is trying to ease the burden by manufacturing hospital beds, according to the Phoenix Business Journal.
Brooklyn Bedding is trying to contribute positively towards the fight against the COVID-19 outbreak, even though it doesn’t have a history of making hospital beds.
After making mattresses that could soak up 60 gallons of diesel spills after a truck accident, they are using the same technology to provide waterproof mattresses that could be used in the hospitals right now.
According to the press release by Brooklyn Beddings, the mattresses will be designed based on-demand and specification. The company has over 25 years of manufacturing mattresses and are looking to transfer this knowledge to the health care industry.
“We produce mattresses for the largest dot-coms in the nation as well as our own retail channels,” said the CEO of Brooklyn Beddings, John Merwin in a statement.
