With governments across the world intensifying the fight against the novel coronavirus, companies are also joining in to lend a helping hand.

Among them is the Arizona toy company, Burgeon Group, known for designing learning spaces for kids.

According to AZ Central, Burgeon Group came up with the London Box intubation shield, a see-through box that has holes on its side. The box is intended to protect doctors while intubating COVID-19 patients.

Addressing the question as to why a toy company would be involved in the health business, Kim Van Der Veen, the principle of Burgeon Group, said that they were responding to a request from Dr. Leslie Easley, who asked whether there was anyone capable of making such a box in Arizona.

With personal protective equipment running out in major hospitals, Van Der Veen believes that the London Box could be a solution to reduce patient-doctor infection. Eight prototypes were made and are ready to be supplied to hospitals.
