The City of Goodyear is preparing to open additional amenities, according to its website.

The openings come amid the launch of its Phase 1 reopening. Phase 1 was announced on May 11.

The city has held a positive outlook and has listened to actions suggested by its residents over the past couple of weeks. Businesses and public buildings have been practicing social distancing at public counters. Public officials also highlight that they feel it is time to open recreation facilities. These facilities include sports courts and playgrounds.

Gov. Doug Ducey announced last week that he would be approving the reopening of pubic pools and gyms. According to the city's website, the city has recently begun Phase 1B of reopening, which started on May 23.

"Goodyear Community Pool, 430 E. Loma Linda Blvd., will be open for an open swim with physical distancing," according to the website.

Additionally, city officials announced that Goodyear Splash Pad at Community Park, 3151 N. Litchfield Rd., will open with physical distancing.

The website reveals that Goodyear Skate Park at Community Park, 3151 N. Litchfield Rd., will open with physical distancing. The site also mentions that city council meetings will reopen to the public starting June 8 with physical distancing.
