BUCKEYE: Buckeye Councilmembers and new Mayor sworn in

Buckeye

Buckeye issued the following announcement on Nov. 17

At the Nov. 17, Buckeye City Council meeting, Eric Orsborn was sworn in as the new Mayor of Buckeye. Incumbent Councilmembers Tony Youngker (D1), Jeanine Guy (D2) and Michelle Hess (D3) also took the oath of office. All four terms end in 2024.

“It is an honor to follow in Mayor Meck’s footsteps,” said Mayor Orsborn. “His vision created the foundation for Buckeye to grow thoughtfully and carefully for the next 15 to 20 years. He truly leaves a legacy for the city.”

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a private retirement ceremony for Mayor Meck last week announced the renaming of the Broadway Road Water Campus to the Jackie A. Meck Water Campus.

The Meck Water Campus is the city’s largest capital project to date. The first phase of operation is scheduled for Spring of 2021, with the Campus fully operational by 2024.
