Graham County Sheriff's Office issued the following announcement on July 8.
On July 7, 2021, at approximately 5:12 pm Graham County Communications received a call of a body of a deceased female in the area of Freeman Flat’s, southwest of the water tower.
Law enforcement personnel arrived and located a deceased female. This is an on-going death investigation. A vehicle associated with the victim, identified as Tameka Alexander, age 42, of Morenci was also located in the area. An autopsy is scheduled for Friday, July 9, 2021 to be conducted by the Pima County Medical Examiner’s Office. The Graham County Sheriff’s Office received initial assistance from members of the Thatcher and Safford Police Departments as well as the Department of Public Safety
