Black Women Walking’ Returns to EMCC’s Main Stage Feb. 24 & 25

Estrella Mountain Community College issued the following announcement on Feb. 8.

Estrella Mountain Community College (EMCC) is proud to bring “Black Women Walking” back to the main stage! Two performances will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 24 and 25 in the Performing Arts Center on campus, 3000 N. Dysart Road, Avondale.

The one-act play, written by Karen F. Williams and adapted and directed by Kevvin L. Taylor, brings Harriet Tubman, Sojourner Truth, Marian Anderson, Wilma Rudolph, Bessie Coleman, Willie Mae Ford Smith, Fannie Lou Hamer, and others to life. The award-winning stage production perfectly culminates Black History Month while simultaneously kicking off Women’s History Month.

Up to 25 tickets per show are free for EMCC students. VIP tickets are $35 and general admission tickets are $30. All tickets, including free student tickets, must be reserved online at https://seekfirst.booktix.com/.
