Meet Michael Soe Myint-- An Owl on a mission this week along with our AFHS Golf Team! This week the Team traveled 3 hours on Tuesday to Yuma for a 9-hole match. Michael Soe Myint put up a 38 (+2) to take the GOLD by 7 strokes. Taking home the SILVER medal was our very own Nicholas (Birdman) Sfeir who put up a season-best 45 (+9). Another huge highlight was our first-year Sophomore, Kimani Murray who finished his first ever match and FIRST EVER ROUND OF 9-holes. This was a huge win for him! With other Agua Fria scores from Felix Lomeli and Emilio Cruz, the Agua Fria team took home the WIN by 10 strokes over their opponents.
The very next day our boys traveled close by to the Estrella Golf Club for their first tournament this year. Nicholas Sfeir, Jack Borges, Felix Lomeli, and Brennan Eich each put up their PERSONAL BEST SCORES at this course. Michael Soe Myint decided to add to his gold finishes and won the tournament! Right now Mike is ranked 14th in the state for golf. Congratulations to the entire program and Coach Babyar!
