City of Avondale will host a Fishing Derby on November 19, 2022 from 9 a.m. to noon. Check-in begins at 8 a.m.
The Fishing Derby will be held at Festival Fields Park (101 E. Lower Buckeye Road, Avondale, AZ 85323) at the Community Fishing Pond.
Families are invited to bring their fishing equipment and chairs to the event to compete in several competitions including biggest fish, smallest fish, heaviest fish, most fish, and more. Attendees over the age of 14 must obtain a fishing license in order to fish at any community park. To obtain a fishing license please visit www.AZGFD.org/license .
The City of Avondale Parks & Recreation Department is partnering with Goodyear Parks & Recreation to bring a new component of adaptive fishing to Avondale’s derby!
The event is free to attend but space is limited. Interested participants should register at www.AvondaleAZ.gov/FamilyFishingDerby to ensure their spot around the pond.
