Buckeye is offering certified lifeguard training classes April 5-8 at the Buckeye Aquatic Center, 207 N. 9th Street.
Learn a lifesaving skill through the blended SAI StarGuard Training class that includes certifications in First Aid and ASHI CPR/AED Pro. Certifications are valid for one year upon completion of the class. Attendance is mandatory for all classes and students must be prepared to swim at each class session.
Pre-requisites (will be completed on first day of class):
- 15 years old (Note: Must be 16 years old to work for the City of Buckeye)
- Swim 300 yards continuously (12 lengths of the pool)
- Tread water for 2 minutes, legs only
- Retrieve and swim 20 yards with a 10 pound weight.
