Goodyear Police Department Traffic Unit received a $20,000 grant from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety for the Pedestrian and Bicyclist Safety Program. The goal is to reduce incidents of pedestrian and bicyclist injuries and fatalities on roadways and in school zones.
Officers from the Goodyear Police Department will engage in enforcement, education and public awareness throughout the year. Goodyear Police will continue to participate in the Lids on Kids helmet safety programs in the schools, through social media posts and conduct a bike rodeo event during the year.
