From January 16, 2023 post.
It was yet another busy training and mission weekend for CCSO SAR. For several members (K9) the training began on Thursday with instruction from trainer Neil Day (Montana).
On Friday the area search and HRD seminar began, which ended on Sunday.
So many handlers from different parts of the state brought great ideas to this seminar. The wilderness search dogs had some great scenarios to work and learned a lot as well during this seminar from instructor Neil Day.
On Saturday the tech team did personal skills training at the Charleston Bridge.
On our way home we were activated for a rescue in the Chiricahua National Monument about one mile up from the visitor center.
A hasty team (Angie, Jasmin, Jim and Park SAR) was deployed and made contact with the injured female. The remaining team (Scott, Bill, Dom, Laci, Debbie, Nikki, Deuce, and park SAR) headed up the trail with the stokes. The female was tended to by SAR medical personnel and then transported back to CP via stokes. She was transported by family to Copper Queen for further treatment.
Again great team work by all involved.
