The State of Arizona was recently recognized at the Missouri Best Practices Virtual Conference for its approach to government reform, which has made progress in making state government more efficient and responsive to citizens’ needs, according to a news release from Gov. Doug Ducey's Office.
Ducey implemented the Arizona Management System (AMS) in 2015 in an effort to streamline state government processes to better serve constituents and citizens. The system invites and encourages state employees to offer input on approaches that would improve services for Arizona citizens.
During the conference, representatives from various Arizona agencies provided an overview of the AMS and made a presentation on performance management and strategic planning in state government. Arizona’s plan is unique in that it was designed to be a total management system implemented across all state agencies. The representatives presented the benefits of the scope of impact and emphasized how it has improved performance in various government departments and agencies.
